    What is it called the people who will love you no matter what? They will protect you from all kind of danger. No, it is not your girlfriend! They are actually called Parents. Parents can be a little too protective or even too liberal. They do this for a reason, and that reason is to raise a gentleman or lady. In the next paragraphs I’m going to discuss the three effects my parents have had on me.

    First, my parents always taught me to accept everything like a challenge. This causes me to have a lot of problems in my life. Nevertheless, it also helps me learn different things. For example, there was a time when my aunt told me to paint her house, and I didn’t even knew how to do so. However, I took it as a challenge and learned while doing it. The house didn’t turn out as I expected it, but in one way or another I had to learn how to do it. Thanks to that, I have painted several houses from my family.

    The second thing is that they raise me to have always my studies in front of everything. I didn’t care about my studies at first until I went to high school. That’s when things got a little, lets just say, hard. I started flunking on my science classes and going to summer school. This happened two years in a row. Since I flunk on these classes, I almost didn’t get into the university that I wanted to study on. Once I realize that, I started taking seriously my classes and my grades were going up. Thanks to this experience and my parent’s guidance I have taken seriously my studies and currently studying in the UPR of Carolina.

    Lastly, my parents taught me to always work for what I want. Since I was a kid I had to work for a toy, games and even presents. As a result, every time I want something, I will do my best to earn it. The best example for this is when I decided that I wanted a car. I started searching for jobs on the internet and right now I’m working at McDonalds so that I can afford a car.

    In conclusion, thanks to all the teachings my parents have taught me, I am the man that I am right now. I don’t know what would have happened if they wouldn’t teach me how they did. That’s why I appreciate them for all their hard work raising me. Parents are the biggest influence a child can have in his life. For this, I say you are who you are thanks to your parents.
